Spinnaker Crew Sailing Launches “The Captain’s Log”
We are proud to announce “The Captain’s Log” where we provide monthly education to our ‘Crew’. Each month we will provide tips, tricks, and key educational topics through our Captain's Log. We will highlight them via an email but the content will be on our website under "Captain's Log". Each will have a "sail date" kind of like Captain Kirk's "Star Date". The intention is to provide our crew with monthly education.
Why provide education?
At Spinnaker Crew Sailing we strive to make our experiences fun so that they become indelibly etched into our memories. Our core tenets of 'Freedom' and 'Adventure' are at the heart of our mission. We understand and value that all people value the strength that comes from being empowered and being free to explore.
In order to do that, Spinnaker Crew Sailing is committed to providing quality education for sailors. We believe that though education people become empowered and will realize their dreams on the water.
And last but not least. Congratulations to Jeff Boyle who correctly identified from our December question that March 19th is the Vernal Equinox and marks the beginning of Spring. The other Vernal Equinox is the Autumnal Equinox (and marks the beginning of Fall). The Vernal Equinoxes mark the time that the sun is directly over the Equator. Finally, thanks to the many who pointed out that the amount of time of sunlight/darkness is dependent on your location in the U.S. Indeed! And the easiest illustration of this is Barrow, Alaska. In the winter, it experiences 67 days of complete darkness and in the summer - 80 days of 24 hours of sunlight.
