ASA 101-103 Combination Course - Burnham - July 19 - 21, 2024
We are proud to offer a combined ASA 101 and ASA 103 combination course over an intensive 3-day program that introduces participants to sailing. This combination course is ideal for those who are looking to sail on larger keelboats as their primary goal.
The first part of the course (i.e., Basic Keelboat Sailing) will focus on the sailing fundamentals in order to build a solid foundation in terminology, points of sail, sail trim, safety, and seamanship. In the second component, (i.e., Basic Coastal Cruising), the curriculum will build and refine their newly acquired know-how while expanding on and improving these skills on areas like maneuvering, reefing, anchoring, docking, and heaving-to.
The class is taught over 24 hours and will give students the experience necessary to charter a sailboat up to 35 feet on his or her own for a coastal day sail.
Although there are no prerequisites for this course, ideally students will have some knowledge or sailing experience as this is an accelerated course.
Please email us at asa-courses@spinnakercrewsailing.com if you are interested in signing up for only 1 of the combination courses
