ASA 106 (Advanced Coastal Cruising) - Burnham Harbor - September 12-14, 2025 (HOPE FLOATS)
We are proud to offer the ASA 106 (Advanced Coastal Cruising) course taught over an intensive 2 ½ day program that prepares the sailor to safely act as skipper and crew of a sailing vessel about 30 to 50 feet in length in coastal and inland waters, in any condition.
On Friday night, we will determine the DR route for the lake crossing. After completing this, we will leave the harbor for the weekend on an extended coastal sail (including overnight sailing). During this course, we will learn new concepts, manage the extended sail, and put into practice advanced sailing techniques and skills.
The prerequisites for this combination course are the ASA 101, Basic Keelboat Sailing; ASA 103, Basic Coastal Cruising; ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising, and ASA 105 (Coastal Navigation) courses. Taken together, this combination course is one of the capstone courses for the American Sailing Association, so students should have the practical skills, knowledge, and experience with significant sailing experience to ensure that one gets the most of the learning environment.
