ASA 111: Fall Passagemaking & Delivery Course - October 19, 2024
The ASA 111 Standard was designed to improve and/or refresh your sailing skills and knowledge. This is an on-water opportunity for students to learn how to deliver a boat, design a passage, refresh sailing skills, and understand all the ways that an individual can make money on the water with a Captain’s License. Class is designed for sailors, boat owners, and future delivery captains.

Agenda
1st & 2nd Hour - Arrive at Burnham Harbor. Classroom content to cover passage-making, boat delivery, sailing skills refresher and more. Will go through the de-commissioning checklist to ensure all systems are identified for decommissioning. Remove and store sails, check engine, make preparations to deliver. Chart & plan for 5 NM voyage.
3rd - 4th Hour - Depart Burnham Harbor and sail vessel to Crowley’s Yacht yard, navigate through river avoiding commercial traffic, and ensure systems are operational and monitor throughout. Track voyage, log details, and ensure safety and successful passage.
4th - 5th Hour - Arrival at Crowley’s Yacht Yard. Dock vessel and ensure vessel is secure. Finalize log entries. Review all systems and record any maintenance issues. Discuss key learnings and put boat to bed.
